Our Team.

Since 2009, RMV Technology Group LLC, a NASA Industry partner, is located onsite at NASA Ames Research Center.

The only SDVOSB hispanic-owned, small business at NASA Ames, Bob Vermillion, CEO/Founder was named the ESD Technical Authority for the Agency in 2018.   A long standing member of the ESD Association Standards Committee and co-author of many ANSI/ESD Standards for Industry,  Vermillion is also Founder and Co-Chair of  SAE 19A  SubCommittee for EEE Parts whose role is to develop Government and Industry Standards to meet Military, NASA, Medical Device and Disk Drive requirements for compliance in extreme environments and low RH.  The SAE 19A Standard is a Work in Process (WIP) soon to be released for the benefit of Industry and Government for Incoming Inspection and the handling of ESD sensitive devices for the laboratory, manufacturer, distributor, end user and US Government facilities.

RMV provides ESD/EMI training, SME engineering services and SME consulting.  The largest and most advanced materials testing laboratory on a NASA site, RMV provides ESD testing of materials, products and packaging to Industry and Government Standards (ANSI/ESD, ASTM, IEC, NASA 8739.6B, ESD related Military Standards).

An Internationally renowned author published in peer reviewed publications, articles from material, packaging and product compliance testing, troubleshooting and solutions provide powerful insights into issues not addressed by Industry or Government or known to be problematic although faced with challenges to find a solution.

Globally recognized  as a pioneer in the arena of electrostatics, Vermillion has developed a series of innovative technology-focused courses to provide solutions beyond Industry Standards of acceptance for compliance in harsh environments. The benchmark for product failure by NASA, DoD, DOE and Industry (Medical Device and Healthcare where devices may be  placed inside the human body) are also known to be harsh environments.

Toni Gurga, EE, Sr. Member Technical Staff  provides ESD/EMC/EMI Training and Consulting for the RMV leadership team.

Specializing in Electrical Overstress (EOS), Electrostatic Discharge (ESD), and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), Toni's SME and depth of knowledge is critical to the success of RMV whose mission is for support of  NASA and the Military in the sharing of advanced technology innovation for a customer's unique requirements  in a results driven platform.

Pushing beyond the limits is the hallmark for RMV success and leadership.  Slow to adopt technology by some government and Industry sectors "that  we have always done it this way"  sets back the mission.  Most recently, the challenge from business and government leadership  is to find purposeful solutions to ongoing problems. Product reliability of device-driven hardware for the US military and Healthcare are some of the biggest challenges today. Handling, transport and storage of volatile materials in harsh environments requires a formal qualification process. No longer can one rely on a Vendor's Technical Data Sheet due to often found non-conformance and suspect counterfeiting in the supply chain.

The RMV leadership team provides innovative technology-focused iNARTE® certified courses for the engineer, technician, quality and procurement professional. Solutions for product reliability and integrity in harsh environmental conditions must be met not only on  land, air, sea and space but also by medical device manufacturers, drug delivery organizations and wearables growing exponentially in the use of ultra-sensitive devices for the astronaut, patient, consumer and the soldier in-theatre.
